Claims

Claims Notification & Handling:

To help reduce unnecessary costs, surveyors and lawyers should not be appointed without prior approval from our team. By coordinating these efforts centrally, we ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and better outcomes for our insureds.

With our proactive support, legal expertise, and strong relationship with our members, we ensure that every claim is handled swiftly, fairly, and with minimal disruption to your trade.

Claims Notification

If an event occurs that could potentially result in a claim, the insured must notify us immediately in writing. Our team is available 24/7 via email at info@atlantisinsurancegr.com.

When in doubt, it is always better to notify early rather than risk the consequences of late reporting. Time limits and detailed requirements for notifications are clearly set out in our Rules.

Types of Claims We Handle

We provide support across a wide range of P&I (Protection & Indemnity) and H&M (Hull & Machinery) claims, including but not limited to:

• P&I Claims

• Pollution and collision incidents

• Cargo-related disputes and damages

• Crew injury, illness, and disease cases

• H&M Claims

• Machinery breakdowns (e.g. crankshaft damage)

• Collision and grounding damages

• General hull and machinery losses

Our Claims Approach

Our claims team operates with a practical, result-oriented mindset, supported by in-house legal experts and empowered with high authority limits. This ensures that quick, decisive action can be taken to reduce the impact of claims on our insureds’ operations.

In complex cases—such as arrests, pollution, or collisions—our experienced team works closely with leading maritime lawyers and surveyors, ensuring compliance with national and international maritime laws while protecting the interests of our insureds.

Cost Minimization

At AIG, we understand that timely notification and swift action are crucial when dealing with incidents that may give rise to a claim.
